CHS TEAMS

Athletes of the Month
April

Boys Volleyball- Alex Hockenbery - Alex is a dominant force on the court. He is able to hit from all areas, blocks, plays defense, and can play almost any position he's put in. He is an excellent all around player.

Girls Swim Team - Avery Wood, Avery is a Freshman on the swim team and is doing a great job.  She has dropped time in all her events, swims in both the 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle "A" relay teams and was the only swimmer to not miss any practices though February and March.  She always has a smile on her face, even when she is doing something that isn't totally in her comfort zone and I'm sure will continue to lead our team by her great example into the future.  Congratulations Avery!

CHS Boys Swim Team - Matthew David, Matthew is a Sophomore and the main leader for the boys at swim practice.  His determination and drive stand out when he is working out and shows itself at meets where he has clocked some of the fastest times on the team.  He swims in both the 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle "A" relays and has missed very few practices this season.  Matthew has always led by example, but has begun taking a more vocal role this season in leading swim sets during practice and is growing into an all-around great leader.  Well deserved, Matthew.  Great job!

Baseball- Elijah Scott: Junior

Elijah embodies what we want a Concord Baseball baseball player to be. His love for the game and commitment to it are second to none. He is a leader for our team from his catcher position on defense and sparks our offense as our leadoff hitter. His work ethic and drive are unmatched, we are proud to call him a Concord High School Baseball player.

Softball- #4, Senior Lilly Ray. Lilly has been on varsity for 4 years and has taken on the role of captain this year. She is our starting pitcher and has improved her craft tremendously. She learned 2 new pitches this year, the rise and screwball, and this has really allowed her to work all corners of the plate and made her quite successful. When she is not pitching, she plays shortstop. She has been our rock out on the field, and she loves to get dirty and dive for balls. She has batted consistently at the #2 position in the line up all season long and is currently batting .359, with the most hits at 14, the most RBI's at 8, and the most runs scored at 12. Not only is Lilly an excellent role model for the team, leading by example, but she has a positive attitude and has worked extra hard to make this year her best to date. Congratulations Lilly!

Sport Cheer-Daphne Angel Aquino, Daphne is in her first season on the Competitive Sport Cheer Team. Also known as STUNT. She has shown great improvement over the season in her skills, as well as her knowledge of the sport. She is a quiet leader and supportive teammate, one the girls look to for positivity when needed. We are very thankful to have Daphne in our program.

Girls Lacrosse-Joey Kremin: Joey has been with CHS girls lacrosse since before there was an official team. This season, she really stepped up as a leader for the team, showing commitment to every team activity. She attended every game, playing with focus and determination, and every practice bar one (when she attended the girls’ soccer NCS game). She modeled excellent behavior for our newer team members during our (too short) season. We look forward to Joey being part of a stronger, better lacrosse season next year.
